Two years ago today was a pivotal day for Luke Combs and his wife, Nicole. It was on June 19, 2022 that they became parents, welcoming their son, Tex Lawrence, into the world. The couple waited two days before announcing his arrival, revealing that their firstborn arrived, appropriately, on Father’s Day.
“Welp he decided that Fathers Day would be a good time to show up,” Combs shared on social media, along with a photo of the family of three. “I couldn’t agree more. Me and Nicole Hocking are over the moon in love with this little guy. Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”

Combs and Nicole welcomed Tex’s little brother, Beau Lee, 14 months later, on August 15, once again waiting to announce the good news, this time a little more than two weeks, likely since Combs was in Australia at the time on his World Tour,
Although Combs’ career takes him away from home, the 34-year-old insists that being a parent is the most important job he has, which is why he just released his brand-new album, Father & Sons.
“Obviously, I’m gone three days a week,” Combs, who is currently on his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour, tells CBS News. “But I want them to know that even with my career at the biggest probably it will ever be, that they were my number one priority.”
By his own admission, Combs was blown away by how much fatherhood changed everything for him, even if he is away from home.
“I think the thing that blew me away most was how much of a serotonin dump there is, just looking at a picture of him on my phone or getting a picture from my wife or a little video of my wife,” Combs previously said on SiriusXM’s The Highway. “It just makes my whole day. It can make you feel instantly amazing just seeing them in their little chair, bouncing around or whatever they are doing. It’s amazing, something so simple.
“It almost feels like in a way that I am a kid again, because there aren’t things when you’re 30 years old that are just so small of things that can make you so gratified and so happy,” he continued. “I think a child’s laughter or a smile from your kid, it just melts you.”
The North Carolina native has a Top 15 single with “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma.” The song is part of a star-studded soundtrack from the upcoming Twisters film, which also includes music by Jelly Roll with Alexandra Kay, Kane Brown, Shania Twain, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney and more. Both the film and the soundtrack will be out on July 19.
Combs will also be part of a new exhibit, Luke Combs: The Man I Am at the Country Music Hall of Fame, scheduled to open on July 11. Find Fathers & Sons, and all of Combs’ music and upcoming shows at LukeCombs.com.
