2024 ACM Awards: Scotty McCreery Added As a Presenter

Scotty McCreery is heading to the ACM Awards. The singer-songwriter has been announced as a presenter for the live ceremony, taking place on Thursday, May 16. McCreery joins the previously announced list of country music stars handing out trophies, including AlabamaBRELANDJordan DavisSara EvansLittle Big TownAshley McBrydeRandy Travis and Clay Walker.

Other celebrities who will present during the ACM Awards include Tyler Cameron, Latin artist Carin León, Charley Pride’s son and wife, Dion and Rozene Pride, actor Noah Reid, actor Richard Sherman, and host and sportscaster Charissa Thompson.

McCreery announced the exciting news on social media.

The North Carolina native is riding a new high in recent weeks. The new Grand Ole Opry member  celebrated his sixth No. 1 hit with “Cab In A Solo,” the first single from his latest Rise and Fall album, a record released last week that debuted at No. 1 on iTunes. He just dropped his latest single, “Fall of Summer,” a song that influenced his new record’s title.

“Every album until this one, I’ve just picked a song title that I thought represented kind of where we’re at or the lead single,” McCreery said at a media event. “But this one, something felt different, and I didn’t think there was a song title that totally captured the feeling that I had for the whole project. And I’m old school; I know it’s a single-driven world nowadays, but I want my album to tell a story, start to finish.

“I want it to be a cohesive unit,” he added. “And I didn’t feel like there was one title that did that. So I was just listening down to the songs, probably on a plane to California or something. I was listening to ‘Fall of Summer’ and I heard, ‘Here’s to the rise and fall of summer,’ and I thought, ‘Rise and Fall.’”

The title is, according to McCreery, a perfect summation of his career. After winning Season 10 of American Idol in 2011, McCreery had a few hits at radio, before losing his record deal, later finding success with “Five More Minutes” and a new record label home with Triple Tigers.

“I think we’re at a pretty good spot right now with what we’re doing career-wise, but it wasn’t always that way,” McCreery told Holler Country. “It took us a long time to get going and get a little traction, and the fall for me was 2016. We went through a lot of crap that year, and pretty much the whole year I didn’t really see a light at the end of the tunnel, but we got through it.

“That year, I learned a lot about life and a lot about myself,” he continued. “I just kept building back to it and kind of got us back on the rise since then, but we wouldn’t have made this record without both the rise and the fall.”

The ACM Awards will air live on Thursday, May 16, from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The ceremony will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, and a membership is not required to view the ceremony. More information is available at ACMCountry.com.
