If there was ever a time to eat from a food truck in Nashville, it’s now. With restaurants still limiting capacity due to COVID-19, not to mention the safety concerns of eating in a public place, food trucks across the country are gaining in popularity more than ever before, Thankfully, Nashville is home to some of the greatest and most eclectic food trucks in the United States. 1. The Grilled Cheeserie
The Grilled Cheeserie food truck offers the same food that they do at their three locations. Patrons can make their own melt, with a variety of options (including gluten-free and vegan), or choose one of their specialty sandwiches, like the Pimento Mac & Cheese sandwich. Add some of their homemade tomato soup for just a little bit more, and by all means, do NOT forget the tater tots.
2. Cousins Maine Lobster
We are not sure how they do it, but Cousins Maine Lobster consistently puts out lobster that tastes so fresh, you would think you were eating it somewhere off the coast of New England. Sourced directly from Maine, they offer two different kind of lobster rolls (Maine, which is chilled, or Connecticut, which is warm), along with a Lobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster Tater Tots, Lobster Tacos and more. Gluten-free options also available.
3. Yayo’s O.M.G.
Yayo’s Original Mexican Gourmet is famous. The food truck, which has been around since 2011, has been featured in the Cooking Channel‘s popular Eat St., thanks to their mobile kitchen that delivers some of the most authentic Mexican food around. Offering a simple, yet substantial, menu, Yayo’s O.M. G. has rightfully earned its reputation as one of the best food trucks in Music City.
4. Deg Thai
Deg Thai offers what they call Thai Street Food, and the menu seems to come right from the streets of Thailand. Offering both red and green Curry, Pad Thai and more, order it mild if you don’t like the heat, all the way up to A– Fire if you are brave. Make sure to get their traditional Thai Iced Tea as well.
5. Dan’s Mac Attack
Is there ever a bad time for homemade macaroni and cheese? The obvious answer is no. But if you don’t believe us, head on over to Dan’s Mac Attack, which bills itself as Nashville’s only Mac & Cheese Food Truck. Offering everything from traditional to spicy macaroni and cheese, along with sandwiches, salads and more, there are even a few healthy items — but if you’re eating at a macaroni and cheese food truck, we say enjoy the decadence.
6. Roscoe’s Smoked BBQ
We can’t mention food trucks in Nashville without mentioning barbecue, and Roscoe’s Smoked BBQ has consistently been voted as one of the favorites. Cooking homegrown favorites that the owner, Roscoe Wilson, learned growing up, Offering a full menu of both meat and sides, their servings are big, as is their flavor.
7. Bradley’s Creamery
You didn’t think we would leave out dessert, did you? Bradley’s Creamery offers affordable ice cream, including cups, cones, shakes and floats, in both the traditional flavors, and several unique ones as well. If you need something sweet and something to quench your thirst, try the White Trash float: Mountain Dew and their Orange Dreamsicle ice cream. YUM.
