Jackson’s daughter Ali married Bradshaw in 2020. The news of the pregnancy was announced in July.

The Country Music Hall of Fame member wed Denise, his high school sweetheart, on December 15, 1979, when Jackson was just 21 years old. While their marriage has had its share of trials, including a brief separation in 1998, Jackson says their marriage is now stronger than ever.

“We got a lot of history together now, and we’re happier than we’ve ever been,” Jackson shared with his record label earlier this year. “So, she’s still beautiful, and she’s always inspired songs. I mean, one of my early hits was a song called ‘I’d Love You All Over Again,’ I wrote for her for our 10th anniversary. There’s been a zillion songs that have pieces of our good days and bad days inspired, and they continue to.”

It’s been a busy fall for Jackson. In October, Jackson was named the CMT Artist of a Lifetime, followed by receiving the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award at the CMA Awards in November.

“Country music’s been real good to me,” Jackson said. “I fell in love with it when I was a young man. I really loved the instruments, the steel guitars and the fiddles and things like that that gave it such a unique character and made it its own. And I loved the lyrics in the songs and the artists, the melodies and the harmonies. It’s just real American music to me.”

Jackson postponed the last two shows of his 2022 until next year, due to health issues. The 64-year-old revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a rare degenerative nerve condition.

“I have this neuropathy and neurological disease,” Jackson said on the Today Show. “It’s genetic that I inherited from my daddy … There’s no cure for it, but it’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. And I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”

Still, while Jackson might struggle with his mobility, he insists he still has a bright future, including hopefully more music.

“It’s not going to kill me. It’s not deadly,” Jackson said. “But it’s related (to) muscular dystrophy and Parkinson’s disease.”
