Caylee Hammack got some big star power on a new track ahead of the release of her upcoming debut album, If It Wasn’t For You. The 26-year-old enlisted Country Music Hall of Fame member Alan Jackson to sing with her on the song, “Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good.”
“This song has held a special place in my heart since childhood,” Caylee said in a statement about the uplifting tune. “And, during the past few months at home, I have found myself frequently visiting songs I grew up on because of the comfort it has brought me, especially this one. It has always been a golden classic in my heart and I believe in many others; and its message felt much needed today.
“Alan Jackson was gracious enough to bring his voice and heart to this song and made it feel like chicken noodle soup for the country music soul,” she continued. “I just feel very honored to be able to send our rendition out into the world today!”
Alan also praised Caylee for her rendition of one of his all-time favorite songs.
“It’s so nice to be able to finally record one of my favorite Don Williams songs with a great message for today and to be able to sing it with another Georgia native with a sweet voice,” Alan added.
Caylee just dropped another song, with another country music icon. The rising star released “Redhead,” which features Reba McEntire on the song.
“This song was inspired by an older cousin of mine with fiery red hair. You don’t hear about redheads very much in songs, so I simply wanted to write one for her and all the redheads in my family,” Caylee said of the song. “Then, Reba came in the studio and TRANSFORMED this song. She helped me create an anthem for all redheads. Whether you get it naturally or find it in a bottle, this is for the firecrackers!”
If It Wasn’t For You will be released on August 14. It is currently available for pre-order at Amazon
