Alexandra Kay is officially a signed artist! The singer-songwriter just inked a deal with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville, making her label mates with Jelly Roll, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson and more.
“Having known Alexandra for a number of years, I came away from every interaction impressed not only with her talent, passion and work ethic, but also her strategic mind and determination to build a career not for a moment, but for a lifetime,” Jon Loba, President of Frontline Recordings, Americas, BMG, boasts. “A career anchored in the strong bond she is building with audiences around the world. It felt much like when I was first getting to know Jelly Roll. So, it was ironic when, completely separate from me, he saw the same qualities and invited her to tour with him last year. We are so excited to welcome Alexandra to the BMG family and look forward to continuing to help her build that lifetime career,”
The news comes as Kay is putting the finishing touches on a brand-new album, the follow-up to her freshman All I’ve Ever Known album, which was released in 2023.
“I’ve been working so hard on this new record and I can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” Kay recently revealed on social media. “We are almost done! I swear! Hang tight! I love you!”
Kay spent part of last year serving as the opening act on Jelly Roll’s Beautifully Broken Tour, As part of the tour, Jelly Roll publicly praised Kay’s voice, along with her tenacious work ethic, while performing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“Before she leaves the stage, I want to tell you a little bit about this young woman,” Jelly Roll praised from the stage. “This young woman in our business, she does it what we call completely independently, which means she has no record label. She has no financer. She has absolutely nothing. It’s her and her best friend, Beth. They’re doing this completely by themself. She has worked her a– off to get on this tour right here.
“She is one of the greatest singers, one of the greatest songwriters,” he continued. “My wife’s a fan, I’m a fan, our daughter’s a fan. Support independent music, but as a girl dad, more importantly, support independent women. Make some noise for Alexandra Kay.”
Jelly Roll also invited Kay to join him last year at the Grand Ole Opry. The two friends can also be heard on “Leave the Light On,” as part of the Twisters film,
Kay is spending much of the next few months on the road, both headlining her own Cupid’s a Cowgirl Tour, along with playing several shows overseas. Kay’s first release, “Cupid’s a Cowgirl,” will be out on February 21. See a list of all of her upcoming shows below. Keep track of music and tour dates at AlexandraKayOfficial.com.
