All I’ve Ever Known The Tour: Chapter Two

“Everleave” is from Kay’s freshman All I’ve Ever Known album, which debuted at No. 1 when it was released, and her personal favorite from the record, detailing her painful split from her husband, Indiana.
“This was the first song I wrote where I was truly honest with myself and how I have been feeling for the past few years in my relationship,” Kay told Sweety High, speaking of “Everleave.” “That song just kind of fell out of me, and it wasn’t until I listened back that I realized I really did hold on for longer than I should have, but as I can say I tried my best. To hear the overwhelming response from others living through that same experience has been incredible.”
“Everleave” is one of several songs on All I’ve Eve Known that detail her decision to end her marriage.
“I’m going through a divorce from my ex who I was with for a decade,” Kay told Music Mayhem. “I pretty much just became 13 again. The only way that I knew how to process this extreme loss in my life and the grief that I was feeling was to write about it, and that’s exactly what I did. And so, I’ve always been vulnerable in my music, but this is by far the most I think raw and real and unapologetic I’ve been when it comes to writing.”
2024 is already shaping up to be a big year for Kay, but she is predicting even bigger things for her in the future, including a Grammy Awards nomination. In addition to a schedule full of tour dates, Kay will also mark her first performance at Faster Horses Festival in July.
