A duet between Alexandra Kay and Jelly Roll is happening! Kay recently revealed that she had a song in the new Twisters movie, which she now confirms will be “Leave the Light On,” a collaboration between her and her close friend and mentor, Jelly Roll,

Kay has been very vocal about her love of Jelly Roll, who invited her to open for him last year at the North Dakota State Fair.
“I got to witness this incredible human play to 18,000 people last night,” Kay shared on social media. “In the midst of his sky rocket to the top he is always reaching out a hand to someone who looks up to him. Last night, and many times before… that hand was extended to me. The words he spoke of me and my career on the stage last night will stay with me forever.. and the opportunity to perform in front of his loyal and dedicated fan base was an absolute honor. Thank you Jelly Roll and ND State Fair for having me!”
Kay was also invited by Jelly Roll to perform with him at the Grand Ole Opry on June 5.
“You know how much my whole family loves you,” Jelly Roll said, in a clip Kay later posted. “My daughter loves you, my wife loves you. We’re excited. … You’re family. You’re now like my newest little sister.”

Kay’s vulnerable and honest All I’ve Ever Known album was released in September. The record detailed her painful split from her husband, Indiana, sharing the highs and lows of her journey of healing in all 11 songs on the record.
“I’m not gonna lie, when I put this record out, I was terrified,” Kay admitted on Joel Madden’s Artist Friendly podcast. “I was like, ‘There’s gonna be some backlash.’ And I think when you’re doing something that’s really gonna help people, or is going to make a difference in any way, it feels really scary. And so, I felt like how terrified I am to put this out, I really need to make sure that it goes out.”
Other artists with songs on the soundtrack for the Twisters movie include Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Shania Twain, Thomas Rhett, Megan Moroney and many more.
