Alexandra Kay has a new single out! The Illinois native just released “I Hate Airplanes.” The song is from a forthcoming new album, out later this year.
“I Hate Airplanes” came out as Kay just wrapped the second leg of her Backroad Therapy Tour.
“It was more than any of us could have ever imagined, and you guys blew us away,” Kay said in a video ahead of the release of “I Hate Airplanes” ” I never thought that we would be able to do something like that, as an independent artist. It was just so wild. Thank you to everybody who came to a show.”
Kay also reveals she will be announcing details of a new tour later this week.
“We’re going to be announcing another tour, which, I know, we literally go from one tour right into the next, and we’re all really excited, and can’t wait for you to see it.”
The singer-songwriter took the first part of 2023 off, to work on her new album, after both opening for Tim McGraw on his McGraw Tour 2022,, as well as headlining her own Backroad Therapy Tour.
I haven’t been off the road for this long since 2020. Itching to get back out there and hug you BUT really excited to be focusing on my album the next two months,” Kay said at the time.

Kay, who made her Grand Ole Opry debut in November, predicts her record will be out this fall.
“We’re thinking the record is going to be yours in October,” Kay shared. “How strange. How crazy is that? We’re thinking you guys are going to have an album in October. Wild.”
Kay previously released “Skip This Part” and “Backroad Therapy.” She is now pouring all she has into her new set of tunes, as a tribute to her loyal fans.
“It’s a product of the last year, but I definitely still have a few more songs before it’s done, and I just wanna make sure it’s perfect,” Kay Kay told Music Mayhem at the end of 2022, speaking of her new record. “It’s my first full-length project, and I wanna make sure that I give my fans something that they listen to and they know it’s me as soon as it starts spinning. And so I just want them to be as proud of it as I will be.”
