Alexandra Kay is opening up about her recent opportunity to open for Morgan Wallen in London. Kay, who was one of the openers for Wallen’s July 4th show at Hyde Park, took to social media to reflect on being part of the iconic event.
“Morgan Wallen was incredible … I really felt like I was witnessing something so special. History being made. Can’t tell y’all how cool it was to be a part of that. And THANK YOU AEG Worldwide for putting me on the biggest show I’ve ever played overseas. Seriously a night I’ll never forget.”
Also @MorganWallen was incredible @BSTHydePark. I really felt like I was witnessing something so special. History being made. Can’t tell yall how cool it was to be a part of that. And THANK YOU @AEGworldwide for putting me on the biggest show I’ve ever played over seas. Seriously…

In a separate post, Kay also shared highlights of her performance, where she can be seen on stage in front of a sea of people. The Illinois native was part of an all-star lineup of openers for Wallen, including Riley Green, Ernest, Ella Langley, Alana Springsteen and more.
Kay was correct about history being made. The show marked the first time first time a contemporary country artist has headlined an all-genre festival. It was also the largest country concert every held in the UK.

July is a big month for Kay. In addition to opening for Wallen, the rising star also has a song, “Leave the Light On,” in the upcoming Twisters movie, a duet with Jelly Roll. The big moments for Kay are coming when, fortunately, she is dong better than ever, after choosing to prioritize her mental health.
“I’ve very much done my due diligence to heal myself properly this year,” Kay boasts to SPIN. “Before, I would just be like, ‘Oh okay, it’s fine that I have a panic attack a day.’ But this year is the time when I really sat down and I was just — for myself, for my fans, for my family, to make sure that I can continue to stay here, that I can continue to be here, and be the best artist and best friend, and the best daughter and the best girlfriend, the best that I can possibly be for all of the people around me. I need to continue to go to therapy. I need to face all of this head-on.”
Part of Kay’s struggles occurred when she faced the end of her marriage to her former husband, Indiana, whom she had been with for more than a decade. Her heartbreak and healing are chronicled in her debut All I’ve Ever Known album, out now.
“I went from being with someone that I was with for 11 years to not having that person in my life, to not having certain friends in my life anymore, to not having a whole ‘nother family in my life anymore, and moving out of my house, moving to a new city,” Kay reflects. “I live in Nashville, Tennessee now, and I was living in southern Illinois at the time. So much has changed in my life. I’ve always struggled with anxiety. I’ve always struggled with panic attacks.”
Kay is currently headlining her own All I’ve Ever Known: The Tour Chapter Two. She will also open for Jelly Roll on his Beautifully Broken Tour, which kicks off next month. Find all of Kay’s music and upcoming shows at AlexandraKayOfficial.com.
