Almost one year after being crowned the Season 19 winner of American Idol, Chayce Beckham just announced the release of his debut EP. The California native revealed on social media that Doin’ It Right, a collection of six songs, will be released on Friday, April 15.
Beckham also shared a snippet of the title track when sharing the details.
“Y’all have been asking for it so here it is. My Debut EP, Doin’ It Right, is dropping next Friday, 4/15,” Beckham wrote. “Thank you all so much for your consistent support and sticking with me on this journey. I worked so hard writing these songs and there’s even a couple on there I didn’t write, and I’m so honored I got to be the artist to record them.
“After a long day at work, I hope y’all can roll your windows down and listen to this EP track for track and just feel good,” he continued. “There’s a breakup song, a where I’m from song, a love song, a river song, I tried to put all the vibes in one place for ya. Truly hope you guys love it as much as I do, I’m so freakin proud to finally announce Doin’ It Right.”

Included on Doin’ It Right is “Tell Me Twice,” a song inspired by Beckham’s own mother.
“‘Tell Me Twice’ is a song that came from a conversation after a few different phone calls from my mama,” Beckham explained. “She told me I needed to write a song called ‘Tell Me Twice,’ so I did, and without thinking I started writing about all the things I’ve learned to love and value as I grew up. Simple lessons learned that I still keep with me today.”
In addition to his own music, the rising star also joins Lindsay Ell on her single, “Can’t Do Without Me.”
“She came over and we worked on the song for a couple of hours, playing it acoustic,” Beckham told Music Mayhem. “And we got to a point where we really loved the song and we were able to get a demo done with it, send it in to the label and they just went crazy over it.”
“There is such a raw intensity in this song that when [my record label] brought it to me, I knew I had to cut it—it hit me like lightning. Chayce, wow, did he bring it on this song,” Ell praised in a press reelease. “I had heard so many great things about him but he more than understood the assignment on this one.”
