Becky Isaacs Speaks Out After Injuries Sustained In a Fatal Car Accident

It was not the Christmas Becky Isaacs Bowman hoped to have. The singer, part of the family group, The Isaacs, was just released from the hospital, following injuries she sustained in a car accident on December 15, which resulted in one fatality.

As a result of the accident, which occurred when the other driver had a medical emergency, causing their car to hit Becky’s head-on, she needed surgery to insert a plate and nine screws in her right tibia, along with full reconstruction of her right knee. Her left tibia was also fractured and she suffered three fractured ribs.

“There are no words to express my gratitude for the outpouring of love from family, friends, the church community and the entertainment industry,” Becky says in a statement. “I am grateful to the first responders and to the incredible doctors, nurses and staff at SkylinIne Medical Center for the exceptional care that has been shown to me and my family.

“I am forever humbled by it all,” she says. “In spite of the challenges that lay ahead, my faith is strong because I know the hand of God will not lead me where His grace will not keep me. My prayers go out to the family of the gentleman who lost his life in the accident.”

Becky will be in rehab and unable to put any weight on either leg for four to six weeks. The Isaacs canceled the remainder of their December concerts, and will utilize a substitute for their concerts for the next six to eight weeks. They will begin touring in March with Reba McEntire, serving as the opening act, along with Terri Clark, on her Reba: Live in Concert Arena Tour.

“Becky has a long road to recovery but with the determination she has and the fighter we know her to be, we are praying for and expecting a full recovery,”  the Isaacs family says. “We know God has been with her through it all. Thank you for the love and continued prayers for her and our family.”

In September, The Isaacs, which also includes the family matriarch,  Lily Isaacs, Becky’s sister Sonya and her brother Ben, were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, fulfilling a dream they were unsure would ever come to pass.

“It is one of the most humbling experiences in our lifetime,” Ben told Everything Nash. “I did a little research, and in all of the 96 years of the Grand Ole Opry, we are number 216 to be asked to be inductees. So if you think about that for a little bit, as big as the country music world is, or even everything that they appeal to — Americana, bluegrass — it’s overwhelming.”

Cards may be sent to Becky at P.O. Box 370, Goodlettsville, TN 37070. A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover medical expenses incurred as a result of the accident.
