The first round of performers for the 2023 CMT Music Awards has just been announced, and it’s a pretty impressive lineup. Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Kelsea Ballerini and Lainey Wilson have all been announced as performers. They will join Carrie Underwood, who was the first performer announced for the ceremony, and Kane Brown who is co-hosting the ceremony with Ballerini, and will perform with his wife, Katelyn.
Wilson leads the list of nominees with four nominations. Shelton, Urban, Johnson, Brown and Ballerini are each nominated for Video of the Year, as is Underwood, who currently holds the record of the most CMT Music Awards, with 25 trophies. Underwood is nominated for Video of the Year, for “Hate My Heart.” She is also nominated for Female Video of the Year, for “Ghost Story.”
Shelton and Pearce are currently on the road together, on Shelton’s Back to the Honky Tonk Tour. He will perform his current single, “No Body,” while Pearce hints she will perform something new.
“So excited to be performing on the CMT Awards!” Pearce shared on social media. “I think it’s time for something new…. Don’t miss it Sunday, April 2nd and be sure to keep voting!”

All three of his nominations are for his No. 1 single, “Son of a Sinner.”
