There’s new details from iHeartRadio host Bobby Bones about his upcoming TV show, Breaking Bobby Bones. The Arkansas native divulged some information, while on his Bobby Bones Show this morning, including revealing a few of the guests.
“I’m excited about my new TV show starting, as far as shooting it,” Bobby said. “It’s a show on Nat Geo. We’re doing 16 episodes. It’s called Breaking Bobby Bones, and I go and find people with stories similar to mine, that come from backgrounds that some people would think were rough, much like my story. And so we were going to go out to Idaho, outside of Boise, next week, and it just got delayed. It’s just all because of the COVID restrictions. So now, that’s a later one.”
Bobby added that some of the people featured on his upcoming TV show include a female wrestler, and a blind kayaker who braves the whitewater rapids.
“I was going to train blind [on the] whitewater rapids,” Bobby said. “That was the first episode. I have to train blind, with this blinded mask, because he’s a blind kayaker who goes through crazy whitewater stuff.”
Bobby’s story is a true rags to riches one. After growing up with a single mother who was an addict, and living in poverty, the former Dancing With the Stars champion managed to work his way not only out of poverty, but as one of the most successful radio hosts, of all genres. Still, in spite of all of his success, according to him, that isn’t at all how he defines himself.
“I don’t know that I am embraced by any stream, and I don’t live by that because it’s so fickle,” Bobby told Sounds Like Nashville. “I don’t ever make everybody happy, and now I’m ok with that. As long as I can be honest and be me, then if people disagree with me or don’t like it, at least they’ll appreciate that I’m telling my truth. That’s all we want from people anymore, and for me, that’s super cool.”
A premiere date for Breaking Bobby Bones has yet to be announced.
