Brad Paisley is bringing his full band to your home –– sort of. The singer will perform as part of the Bud Light Seltzer Sessions: Your Flavor. Your Show weekly concert series, which will stream live on his social media channels. He will be joined for the show by Lady Antebellum.
“I’m anxious to get back with my band,” Paisley said in a statement. “It’s been a long nine weeks since the last time we played and I love that my friends from Bud Light have invited us to get back together for the Bud Light Seltzer Sessions – with proper social distancing, of course. It’s going to be a fun night of music and fan interaction. So if you want to see our tour – here’s your chance. I can’t wait!”
“We’ve been itching to safely play together again,” Lady A’s Hillary Scott added. “So saying we’re really excited that it’s finally going to happen this Friday is an understatement! It’ll look a little different than ‘normal’ so we can socially distance, but that won’t stop us from having a blast for our Bud Light Seltzer Session.”
Brad will likely play his current single, “No I in Beer,” a song that has taken on an entirely new meaning during the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s interesting because when I wrote the song, it didn’t have this large scale, over-arching theme of unity,” Brad reflected. “Well it did, but it didn’t have this feeling that it has. The same exact words, two months ago, ‘We’re all in this together, there’s no I in beer,’ two months ago that’s just a ‘Yay let’s party.’ Now it’s like defiant and a rallying cry almost. Like a fight song.
“It’s crazy that that can mean such a different thing in less than eight weeks,” he continued. “Of course that last verse as well, that last chorus. It would have been a slightly different list of the people I am toasting at the end that are keeping this country going. Nurses are the new soldiers. For many years we’ve slowly learned how much we need to appreciate our soldiers, and it’s no different with nurses now. I was thrilled to be able to throw that line in, because they deserve a beer and then some. They deserve a bar.”
Both Brad and Lady Antebellum will stream the concert from their own social media platforms. It can also be viewed on Bud Light’s YouTube channel. Proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross. The show will begin at 9 PM ET.
