Brad Paisley, Steve Wariner, members of Luke Bryan‘s band and numerous other musicians joined together virtually as the “Quarantine All-Stars” to record an instrumental tune, appropriately called “Quarantine,” with proceeds benefiting MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
“What a thrill to play with this caliber of musicians!” Steve said in a statement.” A social distance jam with players like these certainly isn’t preferable, but it’s the right way to do it these days, and to help out our struggling musicians by supporting MusiCares makes it even more special.”
Luke introduced the video, praising the players for joining together for such a worthwhile cause.
“I wanted to tell you about this one of a kind, all-star band collaboration, featuring some incredible players, like my friend, Brad Paisley, Jonathan Cain from Journey, Steve Wariner, Chuck Leavell from the Rolling Stones, and of course all of the guys in my band, and many more great musicians.
“They got together and created a great song full of heart and intention, to help our fellow musicians by raising funds for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund,” he continued. “MusiCares helps music people in crisis, and we all want to do our part to help during these difficult times.”
Band members who work with Justin Timberlake, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Third Day, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi and more all donated their time and talents to help raise money for the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
“Truly one of the highlights of my career came at the most unusual time,” said Scotty Wilbanks, who has played with both Luke and Third Day. “What started out as an idea in the middle of quarantine, turned into this unique collaboration with some of the most gifted musicians. It was an honor to work with these incredible players, who all contributed in their own unique way in bringing this project to life for a great cause, MusiCares.”
The money raised will go to band and crew members who need financial help due to economic hardship from being off the road because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“During this season our industry has been gravely affected by the pandemic due to the cancellation of tours and live music events,” a statement reads at QuarantineAllStars.com. “We were one of the first to shut down and will be one of the last to get back. Right now, this industry that we have poured into is hurting. Many of the touring artists/musicians unexpectedly lost much, if not all of their incomes for the rest of the year. This has not only affected those on stage performing but also our many brothers and sisters who put in countless hours working hard behind the scenes to make the show the best it can be.
“The lighting and video crews, FOH and monitor engineers, truck drivers, instrument techs, caterers, tour managers, production teams, stage managers and bus drivers to name a few,” the statement concluded. “You can help by donating now to MusiCares. Thank you for supporting music and the people who make it!”
