Brandon Davis is telling his own story in his new single, “One of Those,” and video, both out now. The rising star features his wife, Destiny, in the video for the autobiographical tune, giving fans a glimpse of their own love story.
The parents of four begin the video by revealing that they first connected on Facebook, but once they met in person, it didn’t take long for Davis to realize he was never going to date anyone else.
“When she gave me that first kiss, I knew, ‘Okay. Here we go,'” Davis recalls. “‘I don’t want anything else. I want this.'”
Both Davis and Destiny realize how different their lives could be, if they hadn’t connected on Facebook.
“Four words on a Facebook medium, and her being willing to take a chance and actually talk to me,” Davis reflects.
Davis first teased the song on social media, sharing more of how he and Destiny’s romance began.
“POV,” Davis captioned a video with a snippet of the song. “You found your soulmate on Facebook in ‘People You May Know,’ of all places, and now you get to spend every day of your life raising kids together and building your dream life all because you decided to take a risk and DM her.”
The singer-songwriter has been releasing plenty of music, after spending part of last year serving as the opening act for Tim McGraw, on his McGraw Tour 2022. Davis has already released “Destiny,” “Wheels On the Truck,” “Family Tree” and more, but says he still has plenty of songs ready to go.
“Between now and July, I believe we’ve got close to 16 or more songs that are getting ready to hit the world,” Davis hints to Everything Nash. “I won’t go into too much detail, but I will say we’ve been touring around the country on the Step By Step Tour all this past summer and part of fall, and there were a lot of songs that people were requesting where they could find it. They would come up to us after shows, or come up to us at meet and greet, say, ‘Hey, I’ve seen videos posted here and there, and I’ve never heard this song before, but you’re playing it.’”
Davis hasn’t revealed all of the songs that he will release, but he does say that anyone who has seen him in concert can have a good idea of what will be out later this year.
“It was kind of our summer tour and fall tour experiment, to say, ‘Look, here’s all these songs,’” Davis shares. “‘We’re not gonna tell you whether you know them or not, and if you love them, well get ready, ’cause they’re coming.’ So if you go back and see what we’ve done over this past year, you’ll have a good idea for some of the unknowns that are soon to be known.”
