Brandon Davis is giving his wife Destiny the perfect 30th birthday gift: a new song, called “I Am.” When announcing “I Am,” Davis shared the video of him playing it for Destiny, who inspired him to pen the heartfelt tune.
“When I wrote this song, you were my direct inspiration,” he says. “It’s about finding self-worth, and true self-empowerment. I feel like it’s an extremely powerful message, and it’s going to release this Friday, on your birthday.”
Davis captioned the video by praising Destiny for all that she has been through, emerging stronger through even the toughest battles.

“I have spent the past eight years watching my wife overcome so many incredibly tough situations she never should have even faced,” Davis praises. “And she’s done it all with such resilience and grace and has been my biggest cheerleader even when she couldn’t cheer for herself. I think we all have an inner voice that tells us we ‘can’t’ or we aren’t ‘worthy’ of certain things, and I want this song to serve as a reminder to everyone, especially my wife and kids that you ARE worthy, capable and so very special . I hope this song helps heal you guys in the way it has us.”
“I Am” wasn’t the only birthday present Destiny received. Davis also reveals that he took the family to Walt Disney World to help celebrate her milestone birthday.
“Swooped my queen off to Disney for her birthday!” he writes. “Y’all join me in wishing Destiny the best 30th birthday ever. I love you more than words honey.”

The Davis family might need a bigger vehicle for their next family vacation. The couple, already parents to four children, revealed in October that they are expecting twins. The exciting news comes after Destiny suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage.
“This journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster,” she said when announcing her pregnancy. “From our first IVF appointment nearly two years ago to our pregnancy and loss back in the spring of our baby girl, to now officially being pregnant again. We are so very thankful for God’s blessings and His timing.”
It’s appropriate that Davis writes plenty of songs about Destiny, since he likely wouldn’t be a full-time singer without her love and support. It was Destiny who encouraged Davis to pursue music, after he was severely injured in a car accident.
“She’s the driving force behind all of it,” Davis tells Everything Nash. “And to say that means that she’s the one that pushes me to be the best version of myself, to keep going for that next song, telling that next story, finding that next group of people that we want to reach, and accomplishing these milestones.
“Being an example, not only for my kids and the people around me, but for other people,” he continues. “Whether it’s inspiring an artist to be themselves and do what they want to do and what they love, or whether it’s just inspiring somebody to smile when they get out of bed in the morning. So she is the life of this music.”
