Brantley Gilbert Pauses Concert to Welcome His Third Child

Brantley Gilbert is a dad — again! The singer-songwriter and his wife, Amber, welcomed their third child, Abram Howell Gilbert, on his tour bus, during a show in Mississippi, as part of his Off The Rails Tour. In a video shared on social media, Gilbert can be seen performing, before emergency personnel escorted him off-stage and onto his tour bus. Amber gave birth on the bus, with Gilbert sharing a video of  the unforgettable experience on social media.

“So last night might have been the craziest night of my life,” Gilbert writes. “Watching such an amazing woman do such an amazing thing is something I’ll never forget. Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you.”

After the unforgettable birth, Gilbert reflected on what it was like to welcome his third child into the world, in the most unconventional way, and why he now has an entirely new level of respect for his wife, and every other woman who has given birth.

“You hear during the entire pregnancy that when they get here, when you hold them for the first time, everything will set in,” Gilbert reflects. “It’s just this life-changing moment. And I was like, ‘All right, so I’ll write a song about that.’ But like against the advice of almost every man I know that said, ‘Don’t look down there. Don’t look,’ I watched everything. I mean, everything.

“And while it was beautiful, I gained so much respect for women,” he continues. “When they say women are tougher than men, they mean it. And it was an amazing thing to watch, and I’ll never forget it. But that being said, it’s not something to write a country song about. It’s just not.”

Gilbert, who also shares six-year-old son Barrett and five-year-old daughter Braylen with Ambert, has a few more dates on his Off The Rails Tour, which he is using to raise money for those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

“The destruction we’ve seen of these communities affected by Hurricane Helene, knowing so many folks have not only lost their homes and their livelihoods, but also family members and friends, is heartbreaking,” the Georgia native says.

“We’ve also seen people coming together to offer aid and support – something we as Americans are proud to do when our neighbors are struggling,” he adds. “Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to perform in and around many of those communities, always receiving a warm welcome. Now, it’s our turn to give back and contribute to the recovery process.”

Gilbert’s seventh studio album, Tattoos, was released in September. The record includes his Top 40 single, “Over When We’re Sober,” featuring Ashley Cooke. Find all of Gilbert’s music and upcoming shows at BrantleyGilbert.com.
