Callista Clark just teased the cinematic video for her “Gettin’ Old” duet with Scotty McCreery. Clark shared a clip on social media, revealing the video, starring Brook Sill and Adrien Nuñez, would be released on September 12
McCreery, by his own admission, hasn’t done many duets. Still, it was an immediate yes, as soon as Clark reached out to him.
“I first met Callista on a UK tour we did together a few years ago,” McCreery said at a recent media event. “She was opening the shows for us. I was just blown away by her songwriting and her stage presence, and her voice is just ridiculous. The runs she can do, I think I would fall over if I tried to do what she does with her voice. She’s so talented and has something she wants to share with the world.
“So when she sent the song over, I fell in love with it, and was just honored that she wanted me to sing on it,” he added. “So I’m excited for folks to hear it. It’s a great song. She wrote one heck of a song, and I’m excited for people to hear it.”

When announcing the release of “Gettin’ Old,” Clark said she knew right away that she wanted McCreery to join her on the heartbreaking ballad.
“Scotty was my first choice for a duet partner on ‘Gettin’ Old,’” Clark revealed. “I’ve always loved his voice and how he approaches his career. He absolutely nailed this song.”
The collaboration comes as McCreery has another song quickly making its ascent up the charts. The American Idol alum has another hit single with “Fall of Summer,” the second single from his latest Rise and Fall album. “Fall of Summer” follows McCreery’s sixth No. 1 single, with “Cab In A Solo.”
It was “Fall of Summer” that inspired McCreery to name his latest album Rise & Fall.
“Every album until this one, I’ve just picked a song title that I thought represented kind of where we’re at or the lead single,” McCreery said at a media event celebrating the release of Rise and Fall. “But this one, something felt different, and I didn’t think there was a song title that totally captured the feeling that I had for the whole project. And I’m old school; I know it’s a single-driven world nowadays, but I want my album to tell a story, start to finish.
“I want it to be a cohesive unit,” he continued. “And I didn’t feel like there was one title that did that. So I was just listening down to the songs, probably on a plane to California or something. I was listening to ‘Fall of Summer’ and I heard, ‘Here’s to the rise and fall of summer,’ and I thought, ‘Rise and Fall.’”
McCreery is spending the next few months headlining his own Fall of Summer Tour. Find all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
