There is nothing Carly Pearce likes to do more than tour, so to be off of the road due to coronavirus, especially after just releasing her sophomore self-titled album, has been increasingly heartbreaking for her. Carly opened up about the heartache, revealing that she hurt for her band, and the financial hardships they are being forced to endure, most of all.
“It is not fun,” Pearce shared with her record label. “It is really difficult to be holding all this new music and be so excited and have a tour that you don’t know if it’s going to happen and have all these plans for the year that kind of came to a very screeching halt. Thankfully we’re all in it together and we’re all trying to figure it out together, and hopefully we will be able to find creative ways to get to fans. It’s very weird for us.
“You know, everybody’s kind of jumping all of a sudden like, ‘Oh my God, we’ve gotta do live streams,’” she continued. “I’m just trying to not panic and figure out what does the landscape of the next few months or six months or year look like for us. We’ll all figure it out. I think I’ve gone through the roller coaster ride of feeling responsible for my band who’s not on salary, watching my husband have to take his band off of salary, watching other artists feel this and talking to them. And we’re all trying to figure out what this means for all of us, but we’re going to try to get music out in the best way we can and then hopefully have the surge of fans ready for it when we do get to come back.”
Carly was scheduled to begin her run with Old Dominion, on their We Are Old Dominion Tour, in May. The first tour date is currently scheduled for June 4. Find tour dates, and purchase her new record, by visiting CarlyPearce.com.
