Carly Pearce Performs ‘What He Didn’t Do’ On ‘The Voice’ [WATCH]

Carly Pearce performed her current single, “What He Didn’t Do,” as part of the star-studded lineup during the semi-finals on The Voice. The song, from Pearce’s latest 29: Written in Stone album, is currently in the Top 20.

The Voice shared her acoustic performance on social media.

Ahead of her performance, Pearce said that she would not be singing with any of the semi-finalists on the show, but she still had plenty of anxiety about performing live.

“I am not performing with any of the contestants, although I totally would,” Pearce said. “And yes, this show makes me very nervous because I have to sing in front of people like Camila Cabello and John Legend and Gwen Stefani, and my tourmateBlake Shelton. So, I might throw up.”

The Kentucky native has already said that “What He Didn’t Do” would be her last single from 29: Written in Stone, a fitting end for a song that means so much to her.

“It feels like one of just those special moments in my career that I’ll look back and just know that this was a special song, and I was meant to write the song and meant to perform it,” she says.

Pearce wrote “What He Didn’t Do” with Ashley Gorley and Emily Shackleton, and knew right away that it was special, but didn’t know how special until she performed it live.

“When I was playing a writers round in Nashville and played this song, from that moment, somebody put this video up on YouTube,” Pearce recalled. “I’ve never had a song that just organically, socially — people asked for it in everything I do, whether it’s online or in a tweet or in a DM, or if I’m doing an interview.

“Radio stations have asked about it,” she continued. “I think that’s the power of — people may think that I write too much of my story, but for me, that’s my duty, and I feel like when I’m writing my story, I’m writing other people’s story, and this song proves it.”

Pearce is now happily in love, with longtime beau Riley King, and ready to move forward with new, happier music.

“I just don’t think I can be 29 and divorced forever,” the 32-year-old told Everything Nash. “I’m really excited about it. I write from where I am in my life. So I think that you’re gonna see this new season of life for me, and more confidence in the kind of country music that I make, and really just waving my flag in that.”

Pearce will serve as the host of CMA Country Christmas airing on Thursday, December 8. She will also perform, along with Dan + ShaySteven Curtis ChapmanScotty McCreeryMaren MorrisOld Dominion, Molly Tuttle, and The War And Treaty. CMA Country Christmas will air at 9:00 PM ET on ABC.
