Carly Pearce will perform her current Top 20 hit, “What He Didn’t Do,” during the semifinal results show on The Voice, airing Tuesday, December 6. The Kentucky native, who performed “29” last December on The Voice, is grateful to return again this year to the hit TV show.
“I am so excited to be performing on The Voice,” Pearce shares with her record label. “I am performing my current single, ‘What He Didn’t Do,’ and this song is so special to me. It feels like one of just those special moments in my career that I’ll look back and just know that this was a special song, and I was meant to write the song and meant to perform it.”
While artists often perform with the remaining contestants on the show, Pearce says she will be performing solo, but that doesn’t mean she is any less nervous.
“I am not performing with any of the contestants, although I totally would,” Pearce reveals. “And yes, this show makes me very nervous because I have to sing in front of people like Camila Cabello and John Legend and Gwen Stefani, and my tourmate, Blake Shelton. So, I might throw up.”
Pearce will join Shelton in early 2023 on his Back to the Honky Tonk Tour, which kicks off on February 16. The Kentucky native, who has toured with Shelton in the past, has a lot of praise and admiration for Shelton, especially as his time on The Voice ends next year.
“I don’t feel like there would be The Voice as we know it if Blake Shelton was not the judge,” Pearce acknowledges. “I think about what he has done for country music by being on that show, his humor, his talent, his awareness of what artists need to go from that show to becoming superstars. I just think he’s everybody’s best friend, and I think he was always that, but The Voice made everybody in America and beyond aware of that.
“And Blake, you are somebody that you know that I look up to you so much, and somebody that will forever be such a big part of country music,” she adds. I’m so proud of what you have done with The Voice, and I know that the shoes will be so big to fill.”
The Voice live semifinals air Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 5 and 6, at 8:00 PM ET on NBC.
