Caroline Jones is a mom! The singer-songwriter reveals on social media that she and her husband, Nick Dana, have welcomed their first child, Declan Tudor Dana.

Jones shared a photo of the family of three along with her announcement.

Declan Tudor Dana sailed into the world via water birth at our home on 11/29/23,” Jones said, referring to her husband’s job as a professional sailor. “It was the most intense, raw and surreal experience of my life. Nick and I are overjoyed, overwhelmed, and very grateful to be able to soak up this time as a new family of three. Thank everyone for their kindness and well wishes throughout my pregnancy, especially my brothers in Zac Brown Band.

“Extreme gratitude to our heroic angel birth team: Jennifer O’Briant The Doula Midwife, Sadie Whitehead and Candace Jones, and also to Carson Meyer and Bridget Teyler, who were invaluable resources through this process.” she continued. “We are excited to share more soon. In the meantime, I am a perpetual puddle of breast milk and happy/exhausted tears!”

 

Jones became a permanent member of the  Zac Brown Band in the fall of 2022, balancing time with the award-winning group with her own career as a solo artist. Jones knows balancing her roles will be even more of a challenge with the addition of her son, but it’s a challenge she heartily welcomes.

“We’re gonna figure all that out,” Jones recently told Everything Nash. “But I think the bones of what’s important, at least for me, I feel so lucky to have an incredible 50-50 partner in a husband.  I know how lucky I am to have that. And that’s extremely important to have a support system in place. Logistics can take care of themselves. If you have someone who really supports you and is fully a partner, whatever that looks like with your family — it looks different for different people.

“But I think having those foundational cornerstones of a family is the most important thing,” she added. “And then, we just figure it out.”

Jones just released her latest solo project, Homesite. The 11-track record, which includes her current single, “Million Little Bandaids” with Zac Brown Band, is the next step for Jones as she continues to hone her craft as a singer-songwriter.

“It’s really about building,” Jones told Everything Nash of the project. “It’s about continuing to build a career and a fan base that I’m really proud of and grateful for. And it’s about building grit and resilience in my character. Those are big themes on this record. I’ve been writing a lot about that in the last couple of years. And lastly, building my family for the first time. I’m about to give birth in a few weeks here, and I’ll be touring right up until then.”
