Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley Announce Joint Grand Ole Opry Performance

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are heading to the Grand Ole Opry! The two Opry members will perform together on September 5, for the Opry’s 4941st consecutive show, as the Saturday evening performances continue without a live audience, due to COVID-19.

The Opry announced the good news on social media.

“Kick off your Labor Day weekend celebrations with stars [Brad Paisley] and [Carrie Underwood], on the Saturday Night Grand Ole Opry for an evening of live performances as they keep the music playing and the circle unbroken, with your host, Bobby Bones on Saturday, September 5th!” the Grand Ole Opry tweeted.

Brad became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2001, while Carrie has been a member since 2008. The two longtime friends co-hosted the CMA Awards together for 11 consecutive years. They also sang together on the multi-platinum No. 1 hit, “Remind Me,” released in 2011. More recently, Carrie joined artists like Tim McGraw, Kelsea Ballerini and more in a new video for Brad’s current single, “No I in Beer.”

Carrie was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry by Randy Travis, and was inducted by fellow Oklahoma native, Garth Brooks. Although she has since performed all across the globe, the historic stage still remains her favorite place to perform.

“Awards, and sales and No. 1s and tours and fans … this is better than all of that,” Carrie said in 2019, when inducting Kelsea Ballerini. “This is the heart and soul of country music. The Opry has been and will always be here. This is a family and you are in it.”

Since March, the Grand Ole Opry has been continuing weekly shows without an audience, welcoming performers like Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill and Reba McEntire, Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker and more. According to the latest update, all shows that include a live audience throughout the month of September have been canceled or postponed. As of now, it has yet to be announced if they will allow a live audience for shows past September 5.

Jon Pardi, Runaway June and Pam Tillis will perform this Saturday, August 22.  The performers for Saturday, August 29, have yet to be announced.

The weekly Grand Ole Opry shows will be broadcast on Circle and Gray TV stations, DISH Studio Channel 102, Sling TV and other TV affiliates. Find more information at Opry.com.
