Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Find Common Ground With Their Christian Faith

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher differ in a lot of ways, especially since she is vegan and he is an avid hunter. But their differences pale in comparison to what they have in common –– all centered around their Christian faith.

“We just differ, drastically,” Carrie admitted in the first of their four-part web series for I Am Second. “We learn from each other, and we have spirited discussions about things that we disagree on, but at the end of the day, we love each other very much.”

“That’s where our faith comes in,” added Mike. “It gives us a center ground where that’s the most important thing, [more] than anything, and your differences are rooted in that. I know your heart, you know my heart, and it’s usually, it always is God working in it.”

The couple is proud parents to five-year-old Isaiah and one-year-old Jacob. Although Carrie wasn’t initially sure she even wanted children, she admits she fell in love the first time she laid eyes on Isaiah. For Mike, his journey into fatherhood reminded him of his Heavenly Father.

“It’s one of the greatest gifts ever,” Mike reflected. “It kind of made me realize how much God loves us, and the sacrifice He made. The greatest thing I want for my son is to realize a real relationship with God. At that moment, it just kind of became real.”

It was their faith that inspired the usually private couple to do the web series in the first place.

“We wanted to do this to share some of our personal journey in hopes that viewers will be inspired by it, and maybe even take one more step in pursuing a relationship with God,” Carrie noted

“Since first filming with I Am Second six years ago, I have seen God continue to grow my faith as Carrie and I have together walked through the natural joys and struggles of life,” added Mike. “This new series is not only a continuation of the 2014 White Chair film, but hopefully a reminder to individuals of God’s faithfulness in all situations.”

Episodes will air weekly for the next three weeks at IAmSecond.com.
