Carrie Underwood Prepares for End of ‘REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency’

One of Carrie Underwood ‘s favorite chapters is coming to a close. The 42-year-old is wrapping up her REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency with nine more shows, kicking off on Wednesday, March 26, and ending on April 12.

“I have always loved touring, but having the chance to play for an extended period of time in one place has really been satisfying,” Underwood tells People. “I love that we get to do this show for people who have come to Las Vegas from all over the world.”

Underwood held nothing back with her Vegas shows, including lighting a Jeep on fire for “Before He Cheats” and getting soaked for “Something in the Water.”

“We always like to bring big production values to our show, but Reflection really allowed us to take that to a new level,” Underwood explains. “We have some amazing set pieces that we could never pack onto trucks and move from city to city every night, and it’s been really fun adding more elements like the aerialists and dancers, which we don’t usually have in the show.”

Underwood launched her residency in 2021. She’s had a lot of highlights in the years since. Still, her favorite was one that was also deeply personal, when her mother Carole joined her famous daughter to sing “All-American Girl.”

“It’s so fun to be part of someone’s special night,” says the singer. “But my favorite was when my mom came to see the show, and I brought her out to sing it with me. She brought the house down!”

Underwood receives plenty of standing ovations throughout the night. All of the applause pales in comparison for Underwood to the reception she receives after her show ends., and she gets to see her sons, Isaiah and Jacob.

“They’re always so sweet,” Underwood tells ABC.  “At the end of it, I’m soaking wet, like, coming into my dressing room, towel on my head and robe on and all this stuff, and you can just see how proud they are, which makes me proud. When your kids [are] like, ‘That’s my mom,’ it makes me feel good.”

It’s because of Underwood’s boys that she is the subject of Carrie Underwood: Reflection TV special, streaming on Hulu.

“I feel like it would’ve been a real shame if it just lived on in people’s memories,” Underwood says. “People can re-live those moments and get to watch them and experience them and maybe see things they missed when they came out.”

“I love that my kids are gonna get to watch it someday when they’re a little bit older and be like, ‘Oh my gosh mom. I can’t believe you did that,’” she adds. “I just love that it’s gonna get to live on.”
