Chapel Hart‘s debut album will be out next month. The trio, made up of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and cousin Trea Swindle, announce that Glory Days, their first record, will be released on May 19.
“I’ve never been more excited about delivering new music to our fans,” Danica says. “We’ve been through so much together and sharing the highs and lows of our ‘Glory Days’ through song has indeed been the joy of our lives!”
Chapel Hart rose to prominence after competing on America’s Got Talent last year, earning a golden buzzer from Simon Cowell, thanks to their original “You Can Have Him Jolene,” a riff on Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene.” Following their time on AGT, where they finished in the Top 5, Chapel Hart launched their Glory Days Tour, and released “Glory Days” as their official single. They also just released “Welcome to Fist City,” a tribute to Loretta Lynn.
“’Welcome to Fist City’ feels like 1968 revamped to right now,” shares Danica. “I really believe Ms. Loretta would’ve been so proud! I’d like to believe the generation who laid the foundation just wants to know that they are leaving country music in capable hands, and my prayer is that we are doing just that. I hope we are making them proud!”
It was Lynn who asked Chapel Hart to do one of her songs, before she passed away last year, after hearing how they revamped Parton’s “Jolene.”
“I love it, ladies,” Lynn said on social media at the time. “Now I’m wondering what you might be able to do with one of my songs!”
Chapel Hart had already been performing as much as possible, when they appeared on America’s Got Talent. Although their rise to stardom seemed slow at the time, now the three women see the benefit of not having instant success like some other artists.
“That’s what made that foundation of the relationship that have with our fans,” Trea tells CMT. “They’re friends. They’re family. It was literally them that kept us going in COVID, like playing in the backyards, playing in the small rooms, the bar rooms, the cafes, the birthdays, and all the weird stuff in between. We wanted to share those moments with our fans.”
