Chapel Hart Talks ‘Glory Days’ And Their Slow Rise to Stardom

Chapel Hart just released their current single, “Glory Days,” ahead of their headlining Glory Days Tour, which begins on January 26 in Wichita, Kansas. The trio, made up of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and cousin Trea Swindle, spent a lot of years trying to get their music heard, before their appearance on America’s Got Talent, where they landed in the Top 5 , changed everything for them.

Now on the cusp of being one of the reigning hitmakers in country music, the three singers say they wouldn’t change anything about their journey, even the hard years.

“I watch people say, ‘If I could just get on y’all’s show or if I could just get on with Carly Pearce or if I could just get on with Kelsea Ballerini,'” Danica reflects to CMT. “But it doesn’t work like that. When it’s your time, it’s your time. There’s so much groundwork that has to be done. The foundation’s got to be solid. Then you’ll notice you’ll start to get the walls up, and then everything else will get easier. It’ll start to take shape and form. But you absolutely can’t skip any of the steps.”

In fact, it was during the hard years, even when Chapel Hart wasn’t able to tour because of the pandemic, where they believe the beginnings of their now-solid career began.

“That’s what made that foundation of the relationship that have with our fans,” Trea says. “They’re friends. They’re family. It was literally them that kept us going in COVID, like playing in the backyards, playing in the small rooms, the bar rooms, the cafes, the birthdays, and all the weird stuff in between. We wanted to share those moments with our fans.”

Still, although Chapel Hart worked really, really hard, and believed in themselves even when the odds seemed to be stacked against them, they admit that even they couldn’t have predicted how much their lives and careers would change in 2022. The family trio not only appeared on AGT, but also join Darius Rucker on his current single, “Ol’ Church Hymn,” and made their Grand Ole Opry debut, which resulted in subsquent appearances on the sacred stage as well.

“A year ago, I wouldn’t have ever imagined we’d be where we are now,” Trea admits. “Not at all.”

Chapel Hart, who wrote “Glory Days” with Jim Beavers, says the song is a perfect anthem for where they are right now.

“This single is so exciting for us because we are currently living in our ‘Glory Days,’” Chapel Hart explains. “The beauty of it all is that there are some folks who’ve been where we are, there are some who are in it with us, and there are some who haven’t made it there yet, but the song ‘Glory Days’ allows us to ALL join in, sing along and celebrate them together! It’s an instant jump in the car and go for a ride anthem!”

Chapel Hart is working on their debut album, which will include both “Glory Days” and “Welcome to Fist City,” the latter a tribute to Loretta Lynn.

“We just couldn’t be more thrilled,” Danica boasts. “I’m so excited for people to hear it. Now we can stop screaming and tearing up the highways and jamming it in our cars. We get to sing it for other people.”
