Country music fans eager to attend Charlie Daniels‘ upcoming Volunteer Jam will have to wait just a little bit longer. The Country Music Hall of Fame member announced that, due to concerns over COVID-19, he is rescheduling the event from its original date of September 15, until February 22, 2021.
“Volunteer Jam is alive and well and is moving from September 2020 to February 22, 2021,” says Daniels. “The Jam turns 46 years old this year and this could be the best one yet.”
Along with the new date, Charlie is adding three new musical acts as well: 38 Special, The Allman Betts Band and blues artist Cedric Burnside. They join an eclectic list of performers, previously announced, including The Marshall Tucker Band, Chris Janson, Charley Pride, Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy, Delbert McClinton, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Travis Denning, Mickey Gilley, The SteelDrivers, Pure Prairie League and comedian Dusty Slay, among others.
Earlier, Charlie praised this year’s eclectic Volunteer Jam lineup, calling it one of the most diverse ones to date.
“With so many kinds of music and so many artists from different fields and different eras, this is shaping up to be the most unique Jam yet,” he said. “We’ve been adding acts at a dizzying pace and we ain’t even near ’bout done. Just the end of the Jam will feature enough top-line guitar pickers to shake the walls. Gonna make some special memories with this one.”
The Volunteer Jam is produced by Outback Presents, making the Volunteer Jam one of the biggest musical events of the year.
“My career with Charlie Daniels has spanned almost 50 years, and I have been blessed to have been a part of every Volunteer Jam since its inception in 1974,” Charlie’s longtime manager, David Corlew, said. “This concert will offer musical diversity at its finest. The Jam took on a fresh new life when Mike Smardak and Vaughn Millette at Outback Presents came onboard. We are grateful for our friends at Outback!”
The first Volunteer Jam was held in 1974, at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville. This year’s event will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Find more information by visiting the Charlie Daniels Band’s website.
