The new song comes shortly after Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell, announced that they were expecting their second child. The couple is already parents to son, Dutton, who turned one on June 8.
“To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise,” Bushnell told People. “We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.”
Lane and Bushnell got married in 2019 but found they grew even closer after becoming parents.
“It’s brought us even closer when I didn’t think that was even possible,” Lane says. “Having a kid is a lot of work and I feel like you have to have a great partner or it’s easy to see how it would not work out — it becomes too stressful. I’ve just realized that Lauren and I are literally a perfect fit for each other. I thought that before we had a child, but having a little boy has made me think that even more so, because I just feel like we’re a great combination.”
