Chris also dropped the title track, which is the perfect message, especially for the current times.
“It don’t matter to me,” Chris croons on the uptempo acoustic tune. “Wherever we are is where I wanna be / And honey, for once in our life / Let’s take our chances and roll the dice / I can be your lucky penny, you can be my four-leaf clover / Starting over.”
Earlier this week, Chris teased the new album with a fast mix of clips in a video he posted on social media.

Starting Over features Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench playing on a few of the songs, with Mike also co-writing two of the songs — something the father of five hinted at months ago.
“He’s probably my favorite guitar player of all time. To sit around with him and write some songs has been cool,” Chris told Rolling Stone earlier this year, speaking of Mike. “We did some last year too. I don’t want to make any promises, but there is probably some new music on the way.”
Chris planned on spending much of 2020 on his All-American Road Show Tour. Those dates have been moved to 2021.
Starting Over is the Kentucky native’s first new set of tunes since From a Room: Volume 2 was released in December of 2017. See a track list for Starting Over below, and pre-order the record by visiting his website.
