Chris Young Cancels Overseas Shows Due to COVID-19

What started out as an incredibly positive week for Chris Young has turned into a big disappointment. The Grand Ole Opry member reveals he is being forced to cancel a series of shows scheduled in the United Kingdom, due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

Young shared the unfortunate news in a statement posted on social media.

“This week started off incredibly with my 13th #1 single for ‘At The End Of A Bar’ and plans to tour in the UK but unfortunately COVID has hit my band and we are forced to cancel the shows in Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, London, and the Long Road Festival,” Young writes. “I am excited to play all the new music from ‘Famous Friends’ for fans in the UK and we will update you soon on plans to reschedule the run of shows.”

“At The End Of A Bar” is from Young’s latest Famous Friends (Deluxe Edition) album. The song, which he recorded with Mitchell Tenpenny, was written by the two hitmakers, along with Chris DeStefano, in the middle of a snowstorm.

“It’s a true testament to never skip a day of work because you never know what you might write,” Young says (via CMT). “It’s also a hell of a lot of fun to sing, and Mitchell Tenpenny and I had entirely too much fun stacking vocals on this, so we had to make it a duet.”

“At The End Of A Bar” was the fourth single from Young’s Famous Friends album, but he hints there might still be more songs release from the record.

“Being able to have more music to choose from, if we decided to go another single deep, whatever ‘At the End of a Bar’ does, or whatever we decide to do, there’s new music for the summer for everybody, “Young explained. “And that was the thing that I wanted to do first and foremost.”

Currently, Young’s next scheduled concert date is on September 23 in Indio, California. Find music and tour dates at ChrisYoungCountry.com.
