New music is here from Chris Young The Tennessee native just dropped “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” along with a fun, summertime video to go along with the song. “Young Love & Saturday Nights,” along with Young’s current single, “Looking For You,” are both from Young’s next album.

Ashley Gorley, Jesse Frasure and Josh Thompson wrote the song, with legendary rocker, David Bowie, also receiving credit, due to the song drawing inspiration from Bowie’s unforgettable “Rebel, Rebel” guitar lick.

“When I first heard this song, I immediately connected with the groove and the lyrics with nods to so many things I can personally relate to,” Young says. “It made me think back to when I first got started playing country dive bars and it was the same kind of thing. I drove a beat-up truck to and from gigs where I played music hoping the audiences would relate… and if I’m being honest, hoping the girls would like it too.

“Young love and Saturday nights are things that just go together, and this feels like one of those big summer songs where you just want to roll the windows down, crank up the volume, and just drive around to it,” he adds.

Young’s new album will mark his ninth studio record, which follows Famous Friends, released in 2021. Not even Young predicted he would have the career he had, when his self-titled debut album was released in 2006.

“I’m incredibly grateful for anybody that’s followed my music, bought my music, streamed my music, bought a ticket, told me they liked something I did, did anything and everything,” Young told his record label earlier this year. “You’re not supposed to have a 17-year career in music, and I’m not done yet. So it’s pretty wild. I signed my record deal when I was 20. So sometimes it’s just kind of tough to wrap my head around.”

Included in Young’s long line of successes is becoming a Grand Ole Opry member, which he did in 2017.

“It’s the intersection of the history and the future of country music in so many ways,” Young said of its significance, adding that the Opry has been important to him since he was just a child..

“There’s something really special about saying you’re a part of the Opry family,” he added. “I remember going to shows there as a kid, and it just holds a very large place of significance to our community.”
