CMA Country Christmas is returning for another year! The holiday show will once again be hosted by Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant, and feature performances this year by Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, For KING & COUNTRY, Carin León, Brittney Spencer and CeCe Winans. Yearwood and Grant will also perform.
Yearwood and Grant will put their own spin on “Sing Your Praise To The Lord” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.” Grant will also sing her classic, “Tennessee Christmas” and Yearwood will perform a Christmas medley. Johnson will sing “White Christmas,” Pardi will sing “Horsepower Sleight.” McBryde and Spencer will sing “Man With The Bag,” while For KING & COUNTRY and Carin León will perform “O Come O Come Emmanuel” and Winans will sing “Joy To The World.”
CMA Country Christmas comes shortly after Johnson was a winner at the CMA Awards, taking home the trophy for Album of the Year, for his record, Leather. Although surprised by the win, the father of two says it would have never happened without his wife, Brandi.
“She was the first one out of her seat,” Johnson said backstage after his win. “Maybe besides Jelly Roll. If it wasn’t for Brandi, I wouldn’t be here. I’m being dead serious when I say that. If it weren’t for Brandi, I would probably be dead or in jail. She’s the woman that encouraged me to be the man I am as a husband, as a father, as a CEO of a company, as a leader, and outlaw. Everything, I owe that woman sitting right there.”

Johnson also admitted that he didn’t initially want the CMA Award for Album of the Year, because he knew that Leather Deluxe Edition was coming out one year later.
“We tried not to get votes for Album of the Year, because at the time the entire industry didn’t know that we had a deluxe
album on the cusp of coming out,” Johnson revealed. “And most people think of a deluxe album being three or four
more songs. We had 13 more songs in the works. And the way that happened was because Human: The Double Album I don’t feel like got enough attention. I don’t feel like the consumption rates. I don’t feel like the attention span of the audience was good enough. We got two singles out of 24 songs.”
