The upcoming American Currents: State of the Music exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will once again celebrate the successes of some of country music’s most influential artists and songwriters. This year’s annual exhibit will honor the lives and careers of Cody Johnson, Scotty McCreery, Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, HARDY, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, Ashley McBryde, Wynonna Judd and more.
“Each year through the American Currents exhibit, the museum documents and reports on the music and events that helped shape the previous year, examining a wide scope of contributions,” says Kyle Young, Chief Executive Officer of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
“Last year, we witnessed innovative collaborations, varied musical perspectives and well-deserved honors for emerging artists and established luminaries,” he continues. “American Currents allows us to highlight these moments and artists, sharing their significance in country music history.”
“Unbroken Circle,” part of the American Currents exhibit, will highlight the musical connections of artists and organizations, including those who have influenced htem or shared their musical perspectives. Some of those pairings include Jordan Davis and Bob McDill, Miko Marks and Loretta Lynn, and Morgan Wade and Elvis Presley.
American Currents will also include a video compilation of some of the most important country music moments from 2022. In addition, the exhibit will also recap the year’s most successful country albums, singles and highest-grossing tours as reported by both Billboard and Pollstar.
Other artists and songwriters being honored in American Currents: State of the Music include Charley Crockett, Sierra Ferrell, Rhiannon Giddens, Ashley Gorley, Amanda Shires, Billy Strings, Sunny Sweeney and Molly Tuttle.
Some of the items featured in this year’s American Currents: State of the Music include McCreery’s boots, worn during appearances in 2022; the black jumpsuit Lambert wore during her 2021 New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash appearance; the jacket McEntire wore while honoring Lynn at the 2022 CMA Awards; Wilson’s guitar she uses to perform for her lives shows and more.
