Country Music Hall of Fame Continues Closure Through May

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will remain closed through May 31. The popular Nashville attraction announced on March 13 that it was closing through March 31, but continues to extend the closure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“The welfare of our staff, guests, and community is our top priority,” the Country Music Hall of Fame said in a statement. “With that in mind, we have decided to extend the closure of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and its ancillary properties—Hatch Show Print, Historic RCA Studio B and the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum— through Sunday, May 31, 2020.

“During this time,” the statement continued, “the museum will continue to monitor developments and rely on guidance from public health officials including Metro Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization to inform future decisions.”

CMHOF CEO Kyle Young said, when first announcing the closure, that the safety of guests and staff was the most important thing to him.

“While there have not been any confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) connected to the museum at this time, we must do all that we can to help ensure a safe and healthy environment for our visitors, employees and community, which at this time calls for us to close temporarily,” Kyle said at the time.

Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium earlier announced that they would remain closed through May  16. Although closed, the Country Music Hall of Fame will continue its Songwriter Session online, with upcoming performances by Caitlyn Smith, Carly Pearce and Eric Paslay. Updates can be found on their website.
