Craig Morgan and Lauren Alaina are among the celebrities appearing in the new reality TV show, Beyond the Edge, testing their physical and mental endurance, and it’s all for a good cause. The singers join an all-star cast that includes Paulina Porizkova, Ray Lewis, Colton Underwood, Jodie Sweetin. Metta World Peace, Eboni K. Williams and Mike Singletary, who will brave the elements in the Panama jungle for two weeks, each raising money for charity. Showtime sports announcer Mauro Ranallo will serve as the show’s host.

According to a press release, the celebrities “will see if they have the grit to withstand torrential downpours, scorching heat and deadly wildlife while living in the exotic Panama jungle.” Instead of judges or elimination challenges, each star will be able to ring a bell at any time if they want to leave the competition. Throughout the two weeks, the contestants will endure numerous challenges, allowing them to earn even more money for their charities. The two highest-earners will endure one final challenge at the end to determine who is the Beyond the Edge champion, earning the most money for their charity.
Both Morgan and Alaina spoke out about the new show.
“Excited to be part of the new [CBS] reality series, Beyond the Edge,” Morgan wrote. “It was an experience unlike any other.”

Beyond the Edge is so challenging, producers were unsure if any of the celebrities would even commit to the show, once they saw where they would be living for two weeks.
“Beyond the Edge is the most extreme celebrity format ever attempted,” Executive Producer Greg Goldman says. “The day before we started principal photography, all of the producers looked at each other with the sinking feeling that this celebrity cast might see where they were living for up to two weeks – the harsh jungles of Panama – and just bolt. To the contrary, we were amazed by how these icons pushed themselves to their breaking points, showing incredible mental fortitude and physical tenacity. And all for an incredible cause: to raise money for charities that are near and dear to their hearts.”
Morgan is playing for Operation Finally Home, and Alaina is competing for The Next Door.
Beyond the Edge will premiere on Wednesday, March 16, at 9:00 PM ET on CBS.
