Happy holidays from Dan + Shay! The duo, made up of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, released It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album, out now.

In addition to original songs, It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album features tracks like “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Silent Night,” “Let It Snow” and more.
“Officially Christmas,” included on the record, was first released in 2021, and inspired by their love of the holiday season.
“People often debate when is it okay to start celebrating Christmas,” Smyers said at the time. “When is it okay to decorate for Christmas? … Some say the day after Halloween, some say you gotta wait till Thanksgiving. But the way we see it, it’s officially Christmas whenever you feel it in your heart.
“We wrote this song about that,” he added. “We wanted people to have an anthem, when they felt the Christmas spirit they could probably celebrate it and say it’s officially Christmas.”
Dan + Shay got an early Christmas present recently, when they took home the People’s Choice Country Award for Group/Duo of the Year, for the second year in a row.
“Everybody in this category are friends of ours,” Mooney said when accepting the trophy. “We’re so grateful to be mentioned among so many amazing, talented artists. This feels like such a family being on stage. Thank you to our wives. Hannah, I love you so much. It’s rare that I get to be this close to you. We’re having our fourth baby in January, and she looks amazing. I love you guys. I’m so proud of all the work we put in on this album. I love you, bro. This is amazing.”
“Thank you guys, so much, for this,” Smyers continued. “Thank you to our fans for voting. It’s been the best year of our career. We’ve been on the road all summer, getting to see our fans, getting to hug our fans. My wife Abby. I love you so much. Thank you for making this all possible for me. Country radio, all our streaming partners, everybody here at NBC, People’s Choice. Thank you guys. We love you all. God bless country music. You guys are amazing.”
