Dan + Shay‘s Shay Mooney and his wife Hannah are now the parents of three boys! The couple welcomed their third son, Abram Shay Mooney, into the world on January 17. The couple was already parents to sons Asher and Ames.

Mooney announced the news on social media, sharing a photo of the newborn.

“Grateful doesn’t begin to cover it,” he posted, sharing a video of him singing over Abram as well.

Hannah also spoke out about the new arrival, saying, “Abram Shay, you’re so loved and so prayed over, baby boy. Thankful for all that God has done for us this week.”

 

With two other sons, it may seem like Mooney has fatherhood figured out. But whatever lessons he has learned, they have been from watching his own father, and the relationship they still have.

“There’s so many things I could talk about my dad,” Mooney previously said (via MyRadioLink.com). “He’s definitely my hero, I respect him more than anyone in the world. He’s always been one of those guys that everyone looks up to. He’s a leader, and that’s something I aspire to be. I’ve watched him ever since I was a kid. He’s just the best guy I know. There are not enough good things I could say about him. There are so many qualities he has that I aspire to be.”

Mooney and his Dan + Shay partner, Dan Smyers, recently compared their relationship to one they have with their own wives.

“Being in a duo is very much like a marriage,” Mooney said on Audacy’s Katie + Company. “As we both are married now, we kind of know that’s what it is. It’s a relationship and it takes time, and it takes commitment, being able to compromise, and all of these things. It was never hard with Dan and I. It was very easy to just get along. It was never a struggle to sit down and write a song. It was all very easy from the very beginning.  can’t say I had any preconceived ideas. I knew he was a hard worker and that’s what I needed in my life, and the rest was kind of history.”
