Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney Reveals Due Date of Fourth Child

Dan + Shay‘s Shay Mooney will soon be a father of four. The singer reveals that his wife, Hannah, is due to give birth in just a few weeks, although he fails to disclose if his three boys will get another brother or a sister.

“Fourth one is on the way,” Mooney shares on Country Countdown USA. “I think January 20th is our due date. We haven’t announced what it is yet. People have been asking if we’re gonna announce it, and we probably won’t. It’s too late at this point, and they’ll all find out eventually.”

The couple welcomed their third child, son Abram, into the world on January 17, 2023. This past July, Mooney and Hannah posted a video with their three boys, as Elevation Worship and Maverick City’s song, “Million Little Miracles,” played, with Hannah holding up a positive pregnancy test as the song said, “Count your miracles / One, two, three, four, I can’t even count them all” in the background.

Mooney does all he can to bring the holiday magic for his young boys, but he does not participate in the popular Elf on the Shelf tradition.

“We are not an Elf on the Shelf family. I have Dan, and he comes over and sits on the shelf in his green suit,” Mooney jokes. “I’m thinking we can come up with our own dolls. I’ll think of something that rhymes. We could get our own little dolls. Two of them. Dan + Shay On The Bay.”

Dan + Shay did help fans get in the holiday spirit this year, with their It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album, a surprise project they released in October.

“We’re so excited to announce our very first Christmas album, and surprise, IT’S A DOUBLE ALBUM,” the duo announced on social media. “It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album is a 21-song collection of new originals and classics you know and love.”

Perhaps ironically, Mooney’s favorite holiday song isn’t among the ones included on It’s Officially Christmas: The Double Album.

“My favorite Christmas song, I might scare a couple of people away because it’s not a traditional Christmas song, but it’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey,” Mooney shares. “That song is awesome. Every time you put it on at a party and all your friends are drinking eggnog … every guy does their best to get up and hit those high falsetto notes and that song is just the jam. Every time, even if you play it in July, if you play it in September, that’s the best Christmas song I can remember, and it gets people fired up and in the spirit every single time you hear it.”

Mooney now is the one giving Christmas gifts, but he still vividly recalls his favorite gift ever, and how monumental it was to realize his childhood dream had come true.

“I probably say this answer every year, but getting a Nintendo 64,” Mooney recalls. “I don’t remember how old I was, but I remember it changed my life. It was the greatest gift. I feel like all the magic was gone after the Nintendo 64. It was the pinnacle. It was all downhill from there. At this age, I don’t even get any gifts anymore.”
