Darius Rucker and Gwen Stefani will both soon have a new career accolade. The two singers are among next year’s class of inductees into the Hollywood Walk of Fame, They join an impressive list of celebrities receiving the honor in 2024, including Mario Lopez, Sammy Hagar, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, Kerry Washington, the late Otis Redding, Def Leppard and Toni Braxton, among others.
“The Selection Committee which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world,” Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K says. “The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”
The news comes after Blake Shelton, fellow country star, and Stefani’s husband, received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“This was never on my radar. I had a dream of being a country singer, and hearing myself on the radio one day. I never, ever thought that that path would lead me to here. … I kind of stopped checking things off my list of great accomplishments in my life when I married Gwen, so this is just icing on the cake,” Shelton said during his ceremony. “I love you, so much, and that’s the great thing that’s happened along this journey. My family’s all here, by the way, from Oklahoma. I was talking to my mom this morning, and I was just thinking about what I’m gonna say when I get up here.
“She said to me, ‘I wish Richie could’ve been here to see this, and everything that you’ve done,’” he continued. “I feel like that’s probably the best way to wrap this up. Richie was my brother that I lost many, many years ago. So I dedicate my star on this Walk of Fame to my brother Richie.”
No word yet when Rucker and Stefani’s ceremony will be held. Each honoree has up to two years to schedule their ceremony. More information can be found at WalkofFame.com.
