Darryl Worley is asking for prayers for his wife, Kimberly. The “Have You Forgotten” singer shared a detailed post on social media, revealing Kimberly had been in an accident and underwent surgery.
“The last two days have certainly been eventful,” Worley writes. “I came back from playing a gig in Canada only to discover that my wife had been injured in a side by side crash. When we landed back in the States, that was the first news I received and then the X-ray pictures came through. The doctor in me didn’t like the looks of the break and I figured there was going to be an ortho surgeon in my near future.
“I called my ole buddy Tony Barham to ask about his stem cell doctor in Nashville because I knew that he had worked with the Titans and maybe he could recommend someone,” he continues. “I also called him because my great God Almighty put it on my heart to call my friend Tony. The rest of this story is pretty amazing.”
Worley goes on to say that Barham called Dr. Ethan Kellum, who worked with the Titans, and immediately reached out to Worley. After reviewing Kimberly’s x-rays, Dr. Kellum scheduled an appointment the following morning, with another physician, Dr. William T. Obremskey.

“I prayed that God would help me turn this around fast and he must’ve heard my request,” Worley says. “As it turns out Dr. Obremskey is not just any ole doctor. He’s one of Vanderbilt’s best trauma surgeons and he came in this morning especially for my wife. He set it all up and then they took her in two hours ago to fix her badly broken arm. I am in awe and I sure don’t mind telling you why. I don’t have a regular job and I don’t ask people for favors. I just knew that my wife would have to go through another major event without me there to support her. I know that my God orchestrated this whole thing but I’m so blown away by the people he used to do all this.”
Worley also shares that his wife’s arm was broken badly, requiring an extensive surgery to repair the damage.
“Kimberly’s arm was messed up pretty bad and I’m writing this while she’s still under the knife,” the Tennessee native says. “They said she would probably be done in about another hour. My wife gets a little anxious in these situations and I don’t always know how to handle it. She doesn’t do so well with pain meds but we work together well and get things done. This all started with a small feeling that came over my spirit to call an old friend and inquire about a doctor that he knew in Nashville … I don’t ever look for people to treat me special. I work hard and I seldom even try to rush something through because if you do it usually doesn’t get done properly. I really needed to be here for this and I told my God. He guided my footsteps and I wound up here.”
Worley concludes by asking fans to continue to pray for his wife as she recovers.
“Be blessed all of you and please continue to pray for my sweet Kimberly,” he says. “I have no doubt that she is going to come out of this better than before. I didn’t make these arrangements but the one that did, is omniscient. I like when he makes my arrangements.”
Kimberly’s accident is just part of an eventful year for the Worleys, which included their barn going up in flames in January.
“We’re tough people,’ Worley later told Everything Nash. “We’ve been through a lot and there’s no quitting us, and God’s been good to us. It is the whole thing of, watching something that you love and cherish just burn up in front of you is a little traumatizing. But once you get past that part of it, we’re committed to building it back as quick as we can …It’s just stuff, and we’ll be fine.”
