Darryl Worley is helping people celebrate Christmas all season long this year. The “I Miss My Friend” singer is headlining a brand-new show, Darryl Worley & Friends: Home For The Holidays at Gaylord Opryland, as part of their 40th annual A Country Christmas celebration.
Lorrie Morgan, The Isaacs, Deana Carter, Billy Dean, Andy Griggs, and Billy Gilman will be guests with Worley for select dates.
“Christmas has always been a special time for my family,” Worley says. “Growing up, we never had a lot of excessive things, but my parents made sure Christmas was not just about the presents but about the experience and meaning of the season. I am so grateful to Gaylord Opryland for giving me a chance to share that Christmas spirit with all the people who visit Nashville during the holidays.”
A Country Christmas kicks off on November 10 with Worley’s debut dinner show beginning on November 23. Worley will headline a total of 33 live dinner shows, continuing through Christmas Day. In addition to the musical performances, guests will also enjoy a complete holiday meal.
“Headlining a brand-new dinner show as part of the resort’s 40th annual A Country Christmas is an honor beyond words,” Worley says. “Please come visit Gaylord Opryland for the holidays to see me, along with some very talented friends, as we share the music, memories, love, and joy of the holiday season.”
Worley just released “Have We Forgotten,” a sequel to his “Have You Forgotten” hit, released 20 years ago. Worley debuted the song on the Grand Ole Opry stage, a fitting place for Worley to share a new version of his powerful song.
“One of the first times we played ‘Have You Forgotten?’ live back then was on the Grand Ole Opry. The incredible response we received from that performance is how it all started,” Worley said when debuting “Have We Forgotten.” “We recently decided to sit down and write a new lyric for the song that’s appropriate for this day and time with what’s happening in our country today.
“For the new version ‘Have We Forgotten,’ we wanted to be certain we said what we were truly feeling in our hearts and didn’t compromise what we believe in, which is exactly how it went down with the original,” he continued. “I’m very proud of the message of the song.”
