Dax has joined forces with another country music powerhouse, for a remix of one of his thought-provoking hits. The Canadian, who sang with Elle King on “Dear Alcohol” last year, has teamed up with Darius Rucker for a new version of “To Be A Man,” out now.
“Let’s make an impact and share this thought provoking piece,” Dax said when the song was released. “Love you all.”

Rucker also spoke out about the song on social media, praising the message in the uplifting track.
“Really excited to join Dax on the remix of his song ‘To Be A Man,'” Rucker wrote. “Proud to stand beside him in hopes of making a positive impact in someone’s day.”
Rucker is quickly becoming known as much for his positivity as his music. The South Carolina native was recently awarded the CMA Foundation Humanitarian Award, in honor of his numerous philanthropic efforts, including raising more than $3.6 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, through his annual Darius and Friends golf tournament, charity auction and concert.
“We grew up in a really poor neighborhood, without much,” Rucker said on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where he was surprised with the industry accolade. “There was no reason for me to believe that I was going to be here. But [my mother] always instilled in me to believe in yourself. If you believe in yourself, you can do anything. I instill that in my kids, and I believe it.”
“When I was a kid, she instilled in us that you help people – not people that are less fortunate; you help people that need help,” he added.
Rucker just released his latest album, Carolyn’s Boy. The album is named after Rucker’s mother, Carolyn, a nurse who passed away in 1992.
“I was writing the record, I was having a bad day, bad mental day,” Rucker told The Associated Press. “And I just remember I sat there, and I said to myself, ‘At the end of the day, I’m just still my mama’s boy.’ And that was really the moment for me — that’s what the record is. It’s me just being who she raised me to be.”
Rucker was recently one of the inductees into the Music City Walk of Fame. He is also scheduled receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well. Find all of his music and tour dates at DariusRucker.com.
