We already knew Dolly Parton is releasing a new book, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, sharing the stories behind some of her most-beloved songs, but now we will be able hear the country music icon tell the stories herself. The Country Music Hall of Fame member announces that an audiobook will be released by RBmedia’s publishing brand, Recorded Books, covering 100 of her biggest hits.

“Across my life, I’ve written thousands of songs,” Dolly said in a statement. “This fall, for the first time ever, we’re spotlighting a hundred of my favorites in my new audiobook, Dolly Parton, Songteller. Not only will you be able to revisit my life in lyrics, but I’ll tell you never-before-heard stories behind the songs. I am so thrilled to announce my collaboration with Recorded Books to create this unique audio experience.”

The 74-year-old previously likened her songs to having children, something she and her husband, Carl, in real life chose not to have.

But here, for the first time ever, we’re spotlighting 200 of my favorites, in my new book called Songteller. Not only will you be able to revisit the lyrics, but I’ll tell you never-before-heard stories behind the songs. And, we even dug up never-before-seen pictures and hand-written lyrics too. A song teller is what I am, and I am so excited to share my new book, Songteller, with you this fall.”

The audiobook version of Songteller: My Life in Lyrics will be released on November 17, in both CD and digital form. It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.
