Dolly Parton Launches New Red Wine, In Honor of the Anniversary of ‘Jolene’

Dolly Parton has a new red wine out, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The 79-year-old launched her Dolly Wines Pinot Noir, which was released in honor of the 51st anniversary of “Jolene.”

“For many years, I have not liked the color red, because it reminds me of that woman who tried to take my husband. Remember?” Parton shares, singing a bit of the tune. “But my new Pinot Noir has changed all of that. I love red now. You should try it.”

Per a press release, the new wine is described as a “silky sip, with a fresh palate enriched with red fruit characters and a hint of vanilla,” with “aromas of warm blueberry pie fresh from the oven, sweet cherries ripe from the tree, and subtle thyme dried from the family garden.”

The Dolly Wines Pinot Noir is available now at leading retailers including Kroger, Total Wine & More, Publix and Cost Plus World Market, among others. It is also available to purchase online, priced affordably at a suggested price of $14.99.

“We are incredibly proud to bring Dolly Wines’ Pinot Noir to the market,” says Ming Alterman, Accolade Wines Marketing Director, Americas. “This release is a true testament to the exceptional quality and passion of our winemaking team, working in close partnership with Parton Family Cellars. With its vibrant character and exceptional craftsmanship, this Pinot Noir perfectly embodies the spirit of Dolly’s vision – a wine meant to be shared with those you love, celebrating life’s moments, both large and small.”

Parton has a lot of other business ventures taking place in 2025, including working on her own Dolly: An Original Musical. She recently announced that the show, which will open on Broadway next year, will premiere this summer at Belmont University’s Fisher Center. Preview performances will begin on July 18, with opening night currently set for August 8. The show will close in Nashville on August 17.

“It just seemed natural and right for me to premiere the story of my life in Tennessee, ’cause I’m Tennessee-born and Tennessee-raised,” the East Tennessee native says of her decision to premiere Dolly: An Original Musical in Nashville. “We will be doing lots of songs that you know in the musical. But I’ve written a whole lot of original songs, and I’m having a whole lot of fun.”

Not only is Dolly: An Original Musical about Parton’s own life and career, but she is taking a hands-on aspect to every part of the show, including picking who will portray her in the musical.

“We’re going to be auditioning people, and we still are all the way through,” Parton reveals. “But you would not believe some of the stuff we’ve got. We’ve got some absolutely great people. We have drag queens. We have all kinds of people playing Dolly. Like they were going to get in. You get to do that at the nightclubs across the street. I don’t even know if some of them were that serious about it. But we really hope to find just the right people.”
