Easton Corbin took his new single, “Didn’t Miss a Beat” to the TODAY Show. The Florida native performed virtually on during Hoda & Jenna, as part of the third-hour of the NBC morning talk show. (Watch his performance here).
Easton previously opened up about his appearance on the hit TV show, sharing that he was more excited than anxious ahead of his performance.
“I’ve just performed live so much,” Easton told Everything Nash. “Maybe since it’s a new song, maybe just remembering the lyrics and not screwing it up maybe, but for the most part I’m pretty settled.”
Easton would have liked to have been able to travel to New York City to perform from the TODAY Show studio, but was happy to perform virtually due to COVID-19.
“I don’t think it’s better or worse. It’s just what we have to do right now,” Easton said. “It’s like everybody else just trying to get through it and surviving. I think I’m like a lot of people; I’m ready to get back to normal. I’m definitely ready to get back on the road and get back to my routine. You don’t realize how much you miss it until you haven’t done it for three or four months. For me, I’m so used to being on the road, being gone for a week or two, I will always be jonesing to get back on the road.
“I find myself just finding the stuff to do, he added. “If I’m not writing, then I’m riding a dirt bike or going to the gym or something, just trying to find something to do.”
Easton is grateful for his health, and his ability to be home, but he is more than ready to see his fans again — and to make a living.
“That’s what the foundation of my businesses is: going out and entertaining people, crowds of people,” Easton shared. “Not being able to do that, it definitely substantially alters your income for sure, especially when you have to pay for buses and your bandmates and all that stuff. It definitely hits home.”
For now, Easton is also putting the finishing touches on his next record, which he is eager to share with the world.
“We’re working on new material and I’m excited to get it out there to people,” Easton said. “This is material that I’ve been working on the past year and a half, so I really feel like these songs fit who I am and where I am. I just think it’s going to resonate with my fans.”
