For KING & COUNTRY just released a brand-new song, “Together.” The duo, made up of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, is joined on the track by both Tori Kelly and Kirk Franklin, as well as Kirk’s gospel choir. Tori and Kirk also appear in the song’s video. which shares fan-submitted stories of their own personal struggles, due to COVID-19. For KING & COUNTRY debuted the song on Good Morning America.

“For these two transplant Aussies, being on ABC’s Good Morning America for the first time is deeply significant for both of us,” Joel said in a statement. “What is even more significant is being able to debut a new song of togetherness and unity in such a time of physical isolation. Thank you to Tori Kelly and Kirk Franklin for joining us this morning – TOGETHER we are stronger.”

It was Joel who reached out to Tori to see if she would be interested in singing on the song, but never imagined the singer-songwriter would not only agree to join them on the song, but turn it in so quickly.

“My wife and I have been friends with Tori and her husband, André,” Joel shared on Good Morning America. “So we reached out to them, we sent them the track and said, ‘What do you think about singing on this?’ and two days later she sent, from California, in her home, in isolation.

“Kirk and his choir had already tracked on it, pre-quarantine,” he continued. “It just has felt like this great synergy of different people, from different places and different walks of life, coming together to make something really special. We couldn’t be more proud of this track.”
