Talk about a career switch! Former Tennessee Titan Keith Bulluck has traded in his football helmet for a coffee mug. The 43-year-old opened Just Love Coffee Cafe: McEwen in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, a decision he made after meeting the Just Love Coffee founder, Rob Webb.

“I was looking for a local investment and I wanted to find something in Nashville, something homegrown that I can put my brand behind,” Keith told WKRN.

Part of Just Love’s mission is to donate much of their proceeds, especially towards helping families who want to adopt — something that resonated with Keith especially since he grew up in the foster care system.

“Our core values are to be genuine, be excellent and a catalyst of love and that started with Rob Webb and his wife Emily when they adopted their two daughters from Ethiopia, Keith said, recalling his own challenging childhood.

“As a foster kid living with a white family, it was similar in a case that I can connect with all facets of it,” he added.

Keith didn’t have much experience running a coffee shop, but he is quickly learning the ropes, and is optimistic about the future.

“It’s still a challenge operations, getting the shop to operate it the way I want to. I always have a plan and there is a strategy to everything,” Keith explained.

Keith, who officially retired in 2012, is adding his own spin to his own Just Love Coffee eatery, including some special menu items.

“I’ve created a Chicken Mediterranean Wrap, Kale Salad, I have a breakfast burrito,” he said.

Keith also decorated his Just Love Coffee Cafe with Titans memorabilia, including one of his good friend, Steve McNair, who passed away in 2009.

“The one thing I asked for was Steve McNair,” Keith revealed. “He is up there smiling down and I know he’d be laughing if he knew I was a doing a coffee shop.”

More than business, Keith’s ultimate goal for his Just Love Coffee restaurant is to inspire his customers.

“When they leave here I want them to feel good about themselves, about what’s going on,” Keith said. “I want this to be a space for people to come and clear their mind, just a space to feel great.”
